The East Coast Wings Story

It started with a dare and a dream. Back in 2009, founder Marcus Rivera challenged himself to craft the perfect buffalo wing in his Lower East Side apartment — a wing crispy enough to crack, saucy enough to stain, and flavorful enough to remember. After months of late-night experiments, his friends and neighbors became devoted taste-testers, and word spread fast through the streets of New York.

By 2011, East Coast Wings opened its first storefront on 1st Ave — a modest 12-seat spot that quickly developed a line around the block. Marcus's dedication to hand-crafting every sauce in-house and sourcing free-range, antibiotic-free chicken set the restaurant apart from everything else in the neighborhood.

From a tiny apartment kitchen to New York City's go-to east coast wings spot — here's how we got here.

2009

The Experiment Begins

Marcus Rivera starts perfecting his buffalo wing recipe in his Lower East Side apartment. Friends and neighbors quickly become addicted — and start demanding more.

2011

First Storefront Opens

East Coast Wings opens its first 12-seat location on 1st Ave, New York. Lines stretch around the block within the first week, and a local legend is born.

2013

NYC's "Best Wings" Award

New York Food & Culture magazine names East Coast Wings the city's #1 wing restaurant — validating years of hard work and cementing our place in the New York food scene.

2016

The Sauce Lab Launches

Jordan Chen joins the team and the Sauce Lab is born — a dedicated space for developing new flavors. We introduce 12 new signature sauces and start a rotating seasonal menu.

2019

Catering & Delivery Expansion

We launch our full catering program and citywide delivery service, making it possible for New Yorkers across all five boroughs to enjoy east coast wings at home, at work, and at events.

2024

Online Ordering & Community Hub

We relaunch our digital presence with a fully integrated online ordering system, exclusive member deals, and a new community events calendar — bringing East Coast Wings closer to every fan.
